Dr Asha Bajpai is  currently a Professor of Law at the Center for Law and Society in the School of Law, Rights and Constitutional Governance at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS)Mumbai.  She is the founder Dean of the School of Law, at TISS and has designed and conducted a unique  LLM course in Access to Justice. A PhD in Law with specialization in Child Rights, Dr Bajpai has been lauded for her thesis on the ‘Best Interest of the Child in the Indian Legal System’. In addition, Dr. Bajpai has played a pivotal role in the teaching, research and training  and legislative reform for more than three decades. Dr. Asha Bajpai is recognized as a national and  international expert on rights and laws.for the vulnerable and marginalized sections of the society. She  is associated with  several national and international associations and networks like the Global Alliance for Justice Education and Gender and law Association.  Dr. Bajpai has several publications to her credit in both national and international journals. Her book on Child Rights in India has been published in its third edition by OUP. Her other publications include Adoption law and Justice to the Child, Women’s Rights at Workplace, From Exploitation to Empowerment published by Springer.  She has  been a visiting professor at  several foreign universities like American University, Washington College of Law  School of Law, Keele University, University of Warwick.   Dr Bajpai has served as commissioner in the  several Public Interest litigations in the Mumbai High Court and currently serving as an amicus curiae in Mumbai High Court PIL and member of the expert committee  of Delhi High Court PIL .
